In the 2008 United States election, I wrote in Ron Paul for President. In the 2012 election, I will be voting for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson. Those who are of a more leftist persuasion than myself might want to consider voting for Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

I'm the only one who can be better than both, but I'm not running. Your choice is narrowed to two lying politicians. Sorry.

I'll vote for you. I would expect just 1 small political favor down the road though

I take bribes too.

For the salary of $72K a year?

That's what the salary was back in 1983 when my 10th grade Civics teacher said it was the salary for being the Prez.

Well, that's bullshit. The Presidents Salary reached 200K in 1969.

By the way, the President gets a pension too.

I got a dislike for that comment already. Somebody dislikes simple facts ? Gee, I wonder what political party they prefer.

I'll probably get 3 dislikes for this one,...for implying the obvious.

Do you wanna FRESH ONE!!!

Nah jk, I don't know why people do that.

OK maybe it was Senate salaries.

The point is, it's not a lot of money, and why on earth would anyone want to be President or a Senator, it's not for the crappy pay?

The game is rigged and expected that they'll have little side bar deals going on the whole time. There's just no honesty left.

Tru Dat, but they also are paid that salary for the rest of their days, after they retire.

Also I think they like the attention and become extremely arrogant.

This makes no sense to me, relative to Presidents pay.

For one thing 400K which started in 2001 is good money. On top is a 50K expense account and a 100Ktravel account. And they get a pension of almost 200K per year for the rest of their life, and then theres speaking fees, whcih Obama will get big time (being the compelling orator he is). Obama is also already worth millions from his books.

All of this is above board and honest. What are you talking about ?

Still, I don't think any of them do it for the money. Maybe it factors in, that financially, it's not a bad move.

I'm not sure whether having to have fame and secret service for the rest of ones life is a good or a bad thing. Probably depends on the person.

400K is not shit when you're hemorrhaging the money that it takes to maintain a regal lifestyle. I mean Robbin Williams is proof of that.
He got so successful at onetime, that the weight of his success from yesterday was a burden too big to bare in the present. He was living the lifestyle of a guy that had two box office success movies at the same time. While he was making 3 to 4 movie flops a year, and even had a TV show cancel on him after one season.

Unless you're going to live a modest lifestyle in a Burbdale Ranchero house at the end of a culdisac, that $400K is just enough pay the bills and stay broke.

Especially in an age where inflation is ignored.

Do you know what your point is ?

Robin Williams ? He didn't have to work anymore if he didn't want to. He had a 9 figure net worth. IF he was torn about to work or not, it would have been that he felt he should, because of how much he could make for charitable foundations or whatever. He was set.

Yes, 400K is not THAT much. But OBama is worth millions now, and will make millions more after his Presidency in speaking fees. All above board stuff.

Somebody is making my point now.

As for Robbin Williams his monthly nut was probably most of Patnet's yearly salaries combined. No you don't rest on your laurels when you own Mansion estates and a winery in Napa Valley.
