And liberals think they are "Democratic".

What's so Democratic about the President who acts like a King and forces his own immigration policy upon everyone else?

And liberals, stunningly full of it, still dare to pretend that that is democracy. I bet they can't even explain their own level of hypocrisy, maybe they'll blame Bush again or something instead.

There's nothing democratic about our government. It's a republic, not a democracy. Personally, I'd prefer a democracy or better yet, a libocracy.

As for Obama "acting like a king", that's hardly a sincere accusation. Obama has committed many atrocious violations of human and civil rights, even more than Bush. However, issuing an executive order to grant immunity to immigrants illegally living in the U.S. is not one of them.

And given how obstructive the Republican party has been, they have no moral or ethical high ground to demand cooperation from this administration. They have made it a point that they will sabotage the economy, 9-11 responders' health and safety, and health insurance reform just to make sure that the president cannot list any accomplishments. In other words, the Republicans have openly stated that they will put political interests before the interests of our country.

Furthermore, Obama is no liberal, not by any account. Nor does any liberal support Obama. We have been appalled by his administration for the exact same reasons that we have been appalled by the Bush administration.

Even more towards the point, the question of whether or not to seek deportation of millions of immigrants is not something that liberals all agree upon as it's not related to any principle of liberal philosophy. Saying that all people who are liberals have the same view on immigration policy is like saying all people who drive red cars have the same view on immigration policy; it's retarded.

Once again, you have demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of what liberalism is and who is a liberal and who is not.

If you want to discuss immigration policy, you should cut to the chase and state what you really want and why. I suspect that most people in favor of "reform" -- and reform is just a marketing term -- are really in favor of letting as many people from Mexico into the U.S. legally as possible, whereas people against "amnesty" -- another marketing term -- really just want to get rid of all the Mexicans because they are poor, speak Spanish, and have dark skin.

Neither side is honest about its intentions and reasons regarding immigration. It would be trivially easy to provide a legal, fast, free path to U.S. citizenship and full registration of the entire Mexican population. The only reason there is "illegal" residency in the United States is that there are quotas and limits on immigration.

Similarly, we could simply stop issuing work Visas and that would cut down on the vast majority of "illegal" immigration, which is mainly people overstaying their Visas.

What we should be debating is
- how much net immigration we should allow: zero, limited, or unlimited
- what criteria should we impose on selecting immigrates: none, language, knowledge of our government, skin color, nationality, net worth, etc.
- and most importantly, why

But no one has the balls to discuss these issues in an honest and open forum.

One last thought: if every illegal immigrant looked like this, we'd give them all amnesty immediately.

I didn't call it a violation of human rights, I called him a monarch who ignores what the electorate or "Republic" wants.

In a Republic one has to listen to the Senate, in a Monarchy a king makes decisions. What is Obama doing today? He is ignoring the people, the senate, and just ruling as he sees fit. You liberals might as well refer to him as "King Obama" because that's what you let him get away with.

My point is that there's a hell of a lot more important things to complain about regarding Obama and abuse of power than granting legal residency status to immigrants. Isn't forcing people to go through rape scanners a bigger deal? Isn't executing American citizens without trial, charges, or the right of habeas corpus way more significant? Hell, the right of habeas corpus was first created in the Magna Carta back in 1215 for the specific purpose of limiting the abusive powers of kings.

If "we liberals" had our way, everyone in both the Obama and the Bush administrations would be standing in Nuremberg-style trials for crimes against humanity. It is you conservatives that made it impossible for our society to try high ranking politicians and large corporations. Think about the following:

1. Ford granting Nixon a pardon for Watergate.
2. The Republican-controlled Congress granting big telecom (AT&T, Sprint, etc.) absolute immunity for wiretapping crimes they committed in conspiracy with the government and in particular the NSA.
3. The complete lack of prosecution for treason by the Bush administration for outing CIA agent Valerie Plame.
4. The complete lack of prosecution for crimes against humanity by the Bush administration, even after it left office, for Gitmo and other torture centers.

Is it any wonder that Obama gets away with so many crimes after the Republicans paved the way? If you didn't want a black Democrat having this kind of power, you should have opposed the exact same power when a white Republican wielded it.

Similarly, unless you want to live under Sharia law, you had better support a complete and absolute wall between church and state. Allowing the Ten Commandments to be posted in court rooms and public schools paves the way for verses of the Quran to do the same.

We liberals don't want any president to be allowed to fight a way, nonetheless one lasting over a decade, without Congress declaring it first. Don't blame us for the power you short-sighted conservatives insisted on giving the executive branch because you pissed your pants like cowards after 9/11.

We liberals were against the tyrannical USA Patriot Act, the NDAA, NSA wiretapping, and all other draconian legislation and policies during the past 14 years. We liberals didn't let fear cause us to give unrestrained and unaccountable power to the government. That was cowardly conservatives.

Clearly the many times your own avatar used executive powers, he was "acting like a monarch". Really, did you study Civics enough to understand the powers available to each branch of government?

Yes, but he was neither black nor a Democrat while doing that.

Terrible photoshop! Scarlett Johansson's real breasts are fantastically more beautiful than those overinflated fake ones. Bigger isn't always better. Johansson's natural breasts are the perfect size for her body. There's no need to change anything.

The fact that congress could pass a law tomorrow that would effectively nullify Obama's executive order, that's whats so democratic about it.

Problem is, although congress knows an updated immigration policy must happen, they are too chicken shit afraid of being primaried in their gerrymandered uber conservative districts.

8   dublin hillz   2014 Dec 2, 8:05am

Sometimes it is appropriate for a president to take opinion of the majority into account, sometimes it is not. The immigration issue can be exploited due to prejudice by demagogues which invalidates the opinion/desires of the influenced majority in terms of civilized society so in this case the president should have the right to decide what is right and just assuming that they are deciding fairly and impartially.

Hell yes. The Bible says "Love thy neighbor" I will be glad to put her up in my house when my wife isn't there.

He is the President, and he has the right. If you don't like it change the constitution. The same law will apply to all future Presidents.

Do you think Reagan and Bush wouldn't have given Obama the idea way back when if they hadn't seen her coming?

She scares me. I have a feeling her boobs spray acid.

More important things excuse doesn't fly here. It's entire Obama presidency, constant excuses of "let him get away with his crap, because there are more important things..." I guess left will never run out of excuses, Obama still a media darling.

She had breast implants followed by breast reduction surgery. Sorry to burst your bubble on that.

As for the less interesting part of this thread, i.e. Fort Wayne showing off his stupidity again. Newsflash: OBama is doing the part of immigration reform that republicans can't handle. THey can still do comprehensive immigration reform in congress whenever they're ready. Obama simply handled the part they can't seem to handle - he did them a favor.

Someone else mentioned above, you should probably take a civics class and learn about how your government works.

It's not an excuse. It's priorities. How can you even compare asylum for immigrants with torturing human beings to death? It's like complaining that Hitler didn't follow proper procedure when ordering the creation of the autobahn and that's how history should remember him.

My research on this matter is inconclusive as speculation on celebrity plastic surgery is rampant and unsubstantiated. However, if Johansson wants to authenticate the naturalness of her breasts, I believe it is my duty to verify and notarize this matter. She need only make an appointment for a free breast consultation with me.
