This young couple, probably in their late 20s, starts looking for their first "starter" home with a $1 million budget. The guy seems pretty reasonable and is from Ohio, where you can get a lot of house for the money.
His "Barbie" style new wife must live in Manhattan Beach. "I would never consider living anywhere else, because Manhattan has the "It" factor."
They look at three places. First is a 4/3 2100 sq feet for $849K in Torrance. Beautiful place. She likes the design, but is sneering because it isnt in Manhattan Beach.
The Third place is a townhouse in Redondo Beach, less than a mile to the beach. 3/2.5 2000 sq feet and at $775K, the cheapest. Throw $50K into the place and it would be really nice.
They settle on a 2/1 850 sq foot shoebox for $950K in Manhattan Beach. Sure, it is walking distance at 6 blocks from the beach. Im laughing because the place is literally falling apart as they start opening doors. The realtor is saying what a good deal the place is. The husband comprises because he wants a happy wife. Poor guy. He has no idea that this is just the start of a high maintenance life.
Anyway, it's worth a bunch of good laughs if you catch it on reruns. The people on pat.net will love it.
