Highlights:

Top 1%'s, with over 20% of the national income, tax rate declined from 23.5% in 2011 to 22.8% in 2012.

Top 5% share went from 33.9% in 2011 to 36.8% in 2012.

Bottom 50% still making ~11% of the national income. Funny how they do most of the work around here tho.

Actually unless you are single, if you are in the bottom 50% of household income, you not only don't pay federal income tax, the federal govt pays you in the form of the EIC. I believe the limit this year for a family of four is around $50k.
