Why does a country that doesn't give a shit about Soccer, whose population largely doesn't give a shit about soccer, getting all into this FIFA Crap.
Even so, the US spent a fortune kissing FIFA ass a few years back but didn't get the Cup held here. I'm sure that ass kissing, like the Olympics, included a lot of Rin's Angels and Complimentary Presidential Suite stays.
(Hint: Look where the big game will be held next. And I doubt the target is Qatar, that beacon of Liberty and Justice and Freedom, in 2022, even though most of the corruption allegations are about Qatar )

Exactly!!!!!!
If I were the EU I would investigate how the Super Bowl is managed, as well as the tax exemption status of the NFL up to this year.
I bet all kinds of shit would fall out of the wood work, that would make the FIFA scandal seem like a toddler beauty pageant.

Ha - See, the Capt. makes good points. This is a great one. It's like the EU investigating the NFL.
Furthermore I have to agree with ole Puttie Poo, had he not been awarded the next two world cups, this would be a non issue today.
Heck I might even be welcoming the over zeal of it all, had our law making bastards made the least bit attempt to prosecute all of the bankers we've rescued and bailed out in the last 8 years.
No, it's not.
Wow, great answer.
It's the correct answer nonetheless. Who is Chuck Blazer? Who is Jack Warner? Who is Jeffrey Webb? What is Concacaf? Guess which country is a member of Concacaf...
CONCACAF is a member of FIFA representing the Caribbean and North America. If the US thinks that FIFA officials have done something, let them bring charges and/or see if they will be extradited. A US Prosecutor and investigative team's opinion is just that, until proven in a Court of Law.
It most certainly is about Russia's 2018 bid:

Almost all of the member nations are behind Blatter, except for the US, UK, and some EU Neoliberal Buttboys.
Ummm,,, article is about some moron in Trinidad and Tobago who doesn't understand that The Onion is satire.
The article highlights one countries humor is another countries gospel.
“In jest, there is truth.†and all that.

Former FIFA vice president Jack Warner from Trinidad and Tobago was among the 14 officials charged in the Justice Department's investigation into global soccer corruption last week. On Sunday, Warner posted a video on Facebook to assert his innocence and rip the United States.
To bolster his case, Warner tried to expose the U.S. of being guilty of a double standard. His proof? An article published in the wake of the indictments titled FIFA Frantically Announces 2015 Summer World Cup In United States.

"If FIFA is so bad, why is it the USA wants to keep the FIFA World Cup?" Warner says on the video while holding a printout of the article.
The problem? The article is from The Onion, the satirical website.
Video is posted on articles website, and you can skip ahead to the 5:00 mark of this eight-minute clip to see his citing of The Onion's piece.
