Whoa whoa slow down there Bill Nye, we still haven't learned how to land a space craft yet.
Or do we just take the shuttle and hope like hell there's a runway som'mwers up there?
Space-X! For when it absolutely, positively, has to blow up over night.
Screw it, let's move to an other planet.
1. We don't have the technology to travel to even a nearby solar system.
2. It is extremely improbably that a given Earth-size planet has an Earth-like environment. Look at Venus.
3. The cost of terraforming a planet that was very close to Earth-like in environment would still be astronomical. We're talking quadrillions of dollars to make even small shifts. It would be far cheaper to terraform Earth back to the way it was in 1900.
4. The same exact problems with face on Earth will be replicated on any planet. Greedy corporations would trash those planets as well.
We can't even colonize a remote desert on earth using a closed biome.
that a given Earth-size planet has an Earth-like environment. Look at Venus.
The irony is that Venus is easier to colonize than Mars, but you must abandon the idea of living on the surface for cloud cities. Breathable air is a lifting gas on Venus, and every resource but water is easily obtained, with water only slightly difficult.
We can't even fly across the state without being at each other's throat.
Everyone will be voted off the rocket before we got there.
Screw it, let's move to an other planet.
We definitely need another planet to trash.
Slow down guys.....we aren't done destroying this one yet.
