Goddamn it, i want to keep google out of my life entirely, but now my employer uses gmail, so have to use it, and my employer put my first and last name on it: first.last@mycompany.com

To view my work calendar on my phone i have to add that account, so google knows my phone now too.

Even viewing a youtube video at work i noticed that they have me logged in to youtube (which google owns). if i log out, i can't read my email...

Google is the worst thing ever to happen to privacy.

i like it. it's kind of crazy. there is a counter on the right side when i visit a website how much crap it blocks. its a lot on any news website, i visited them all just to check it out. all advertising is like fucking cancer... spreads faster than covid.

If a company uses gmail for its own business, it's time for their customers to leave.

It's certainly time for their investors to leave.

What company in its right mind would turn over all of its internal communications to Google?

Remember when Google's motto was "Do no Evil"?
Then they decided, that dropping acid would make their company smarter. But I think they all dropped so much Acid, they became demented and deranged. Just like those Hippy Cults in the 70's that took hallucinogenics and other hard drugs, to make them one with the Universe. Then went on a murderous killing spree.
I think that is what happened to Google.
There's just no way in hell, sane normal people can reconcile. Just how they took the smartest thing man has ever invented. That was so brilliant, it made everyone with access to a computer and the internet, capable of answering questions that only scholars and geniuses could answer before Google.
Google was so good, it was becoming humanities second brain. Now a Google search will return what ever Jim Acosta believes cretins like us should and should not be privy to.

When I think of a Google meeting, I think of Charles Manson holding court with his murderous drug addled Ne'er-do-wells, singing code in a guitar ditty, for their next marauding escapade.

I dropped acid several times in the 70's. I saw it fuck up several people permanently.

I realized that hallucinogens merely mess up the signals from your sense perception to your brain. All the colors, movements, insights were really just the drugs messing with your senses. That is no way to live life.

State Legislators Grappling to Address Big Tech Censorship
BY EMEL AKAN August 10, 2021

States are busy looking for ways to curb Big Tech’s outsized power as Google, Facebook, and Twitter have ramped up censorship in recent months.

It's good to have another level of power, the states, looking at ways of limiting tech tyrant power.

In fact, it should primarily be the responsibility of states, becase powers not Constitutionally granted to the federal government belong to States or the people.

Let me translate for you:
"Hey big pockets Google, we need some campaign cash over here, plus find a few jobs in your organization for our nieces/nephews."

Ah, no doubt you're right about that.

Google Employees Face Pay Cuts Up To 25% For Working From Home Permanently: Leaked Salary Data
160   Karloff   2021 Aug 11, 1:35pm

For Goolag employees working in a city with high cost of living (Bay Area), it then makes sense to take the opportunity to move somewhere cheap. Even with 25% pay cut, they'll still make out like bandits.

Never understood why tech employees have to live in SF Bay when everyone can work remote.

Oh wait, nm....

"Our compensation packages have always been determined by location, and we always pay at the top of the local market based on where an employee works from,"

That's just idiotic, but typical of the company's greed.

He also explained how the process worked during an interview with the Epoch Times. Vorhies went on to clarify how these classifiers were trained by people with biases based on what they believed to be fake or misleading news. The classifiers allow Google to automatically filter out content they believe goes against the truth and their political narrative.

Vorhies added Google’s algorithm attached new negative stories about Trump onto old ones in order to keep them trending at the top of their search results longer. He concluded by exposing Google’s attempt to rewrite its’ operating code to prevent many in the U.S. from participating in the national discussion.

Another invidious rumor is that the techs are all for the killer vax, because they believe they have achieved enough self perpetuating trans humanism to dispense with most of their cumbersome meat puppets.

Apple, Google, and Samsung move to normalize vaccine passports with wallet function
Vaccine passport wallets will soon be built into the operating system.

Install Linux instead, and get a Linux-based phone where you control all the code on it.

The other reason is that using Google is devastating to your privacy.

here is the craziest thing I just sort of realized.

When Feds wanted to sell propaganda to Cuba IIRC they made a website called something like "Twitter" in Spanish (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZunZuneo). And they used it to push propaganda there. It's same name as Twitter, which basically is a left wing propaganda social media. Makes one wonder if there is a connection.

https://nationalfile.com/facebook-and-google-partner-compiles-report-on-how-to-manipulate-people-to-get-the-vaccine-using-their-reputation-public-image-shopping-habits-religion/

A Facebook and Google partner that uses artificial intelligence to compile data from tracking people’s web history has put together a report that outlines ways to mentally program people to get the Coronavirus vaccine. NATIONAL FILE has obtained a copy of the cynical report from Resonate, a company based in Reston, Virginia in the Washington, D.C. area that goes out of its way to denounce “racism” and employs executives who previously worked for the Washington Post, AOL and other corporations. The report is called Moving The Needle: How To Reach The Vaccine-Hesitant And Resistant. The report gives tips on how to manipulate people’s values of “safety,” “reputation and public image,” “social clout,” and even their religion and shopping habits to coerce them to get the vaccine. The report explicitly states, “DRAW THEM TO VACCINATION SITES BASED ON THEIR SHOPPING PREFERENCES.” The report also compiles information on the children of vaccine-hesitant people and vaccine resisters.
Resonate’s listed partners include Facebook and Google. Resonate acknowledges that its data collection allows its clients to “gain a deeper understanding of every consumer who engages with your digital media presence across all platforms including Facebook, Linkedin, etc.” This Facebook and Google partner has used people’s personal information to build an extremely creepy profile of the “Vaccine-Hesitant” community. And Resonate makes it clear that they are tracking people’s “web traffic” in order to build their research. Here are some screenshots from Resonate’s website describing how they get their information from “web traffic” and how they partner with Facebook, Google, Oracle, and others.

Believe me, it's a self correcting problem.

I first stopped using Google because as a company, they pissed me off. NOW I don't use Google, because I can't easily find what I'm looking for when I use their piece of shit search engine.

they have language selection in their options

@Bd6r Do you have to be logged in to see those options?

I already have EN selected in the upper right:

after your search, click on thing to right of Search orange button
languages appear below
click on English

Ah, thanks @Bd6r

That does seem to have fixed it, even for subsequent searches, but only until I then close that tab.

OK, now I'll set Yandex as my default search engine in Brave and try that for a while.

I've said this multiple times before, but I'll say it again.

It is an open secret that Google is funded and supported by the intelligence agencies. Their "parent" company in 2015 became "Alphabet". Somehow, Google, which was founded in 1998, became the child company of Alphabet in 2015. Alphabet as in alphabet agency.

It's OPENLY broadcast. It was discovered that NSA had a secret room inside of Google. There have been SEVERAL whistleblowers. They are 6 miles from where I live.

When engineers in Silly Con Valley tell you this shit, BELIEVE US. Facebook is no better, Twitter is OBVIOUSLY in the pockets of the government.

You can't find shit with Amazon anymore.

It's amazing that Amazon is LESS useful a decade on. Until you consider it is purposeful - to drive people to their Chinese Knockoffs.

When you're searching for something, do a search for the word "sponsored" and click "highlight all" on your browser. You can then quickly identify what is being pushed, instead of what is being searched for, and more quickly skip over those.

Yes, Amazon is purposely broken - eBay is as well.

It must have been determined that NOT showing exact searches increased sales. I remember the good old days when what I searched for is what I got to their best of their ability, then from there, it was advertisements in hopes that it was close enough to what I was looking for. Now results are obfuscated. I think that is true of the Google search engine itself, or it seems that way. That's what made Google great, it reduced time wasted.

Google is so full of shit. You can use every keyword and add "negative keywords" to anything remotely political, and guaranteed to get factchecked Bullshit or SPLC or whatever.

Yeah, just move beyond it.

Instead of complaining about Google's bullshit, just recognize they are now bullshit.

To find videos on youtube of which I know the EXACT TITLE of, I have to use yandex to do it. For example, for this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MA8a2g6tTp0

Here's the search from youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Joe+Biden+brags+about+having+%E2%80%9Cthe+most+extensive+and+inclusive+VOTER+FRAUD+organization%E2%80%9D+in+history.

now from yandex:

https://yandex.com/search/?text=Joe+Biden+brags+about+having+%E2%80%9Cthe+most+extensive+and+inclusive+VOTER+FRAUD+organization%E2%80%9D+in+history.+site%3Awww.youtube.com&lr=102749

In yandex, it's the first result for me.

Deal with it.
186   AmericanKulak   2021 Oct 20, 5:11pm

Yes, I had that with S2 Underground. Youtube is actively hiding their videos.

I gave up on Google months ago and esp. Facebook years ago. Blocked on my desktop and laptop. The one thing I noticed, especially with Facebook, is pages loaded much faster despite that being the only change I made.

Next and last phase is Pinephone.

Google is horrific. It's a sad irony that we're looking at Russia for reliable search engines. To all you smart people out there... how hard would it be to create a reliable search engine that gives good results and dosen't sell you out?
