The codename Spartan has been dropped and Microsoft's new web browser for Windows 10 is called Edge. Sounds like a shaving cream.

Currently, Microsoft has no plans to release a version of Edge to run on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1. The company seems to want to get people to all move over to Windows 10 and is even offering the OS for free to current Windows 7 and 8 users. This is probably because Windows 10 is Microsoft's attempt to start selling Windows as a service you pay for every year rather than an OS you "own" the rights to use forever. All those people hanging on to Windows XP and skipping versions of Windows must have put quite a dent in Microsoft's profits and made them rethink their business model.

Yes make a new browser, No! retire the stupid blue "E".

It's synonymous with "Internet Exploder".
