I can't help but notice that google's core services have been deteriorating for years, and the new CEO to be, Sundar Pichai, has been part of the problem rather than part of the solution.
So what is going on? Google became great because of rock solid engineering and product design. But now the place seems to be run by MBA "product managers", and the engineers that used to make great products have all but given up.
