We could let Israel duke it out now.
But we don't want the evil terrorists to win.
But we don't want the evil terrorists to win.
The Israeli's have a powerful lobby, which is one of the main reasons we are there in the first place.
From the macro point of view everyone needs to realize that peak whatever is controlled by technology. Consequently energy will have less and less of an impact.
I'm ok making friends with Cuba, just like we made friends with Russia and China.
Those terrorists are a threat to all of mankind. We must defang them.
If Islam had not existed we would not have terrorists.
Russia China and India have nothing to do with Israel, yet they have Islamic terrorism.
If Islam had not existed we would not have terrorists.
Are you serious? There always were terrorists of all stripes: red brigades, Ireland IRA, etc...?
Look at a list of domestic terrorist groups in the US:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_terrorism_in_the_United_States
Strife is everywhere.
Or as they say in MIB:
"There's always an Arquillian Battle Cruiser, or a Corillian Death Ray, or an intergalactic plague that is about to wipe out all life on this miserable little planet"
Islamic terrorists comprise of 99% of terrorism
All other groups combined is 1% of all terrorism
Discovery of oil in ISRAEL means the Jewish state could soon produce 'significant quantities' of 'black gold'... and potentially change the face of the Middle East
It's a Daily Mail article, is it not? Why would one oil field change the face of the Middle East? It doesn't even say how many millions or billions of barrels they are predicting it holds. Ten times the AVERAGE oil field size wouldn't put it anywhere near supergiant size and in no way a 'game changer.' The Burgan field in Kuwait holds over 70bn barrels as one example. Iraq has enormous untapped reserves that dwarf anything in Israel. Why is that not a potential game changer? And this is without considering the cost of extraction, which are a (low) known quantity in Iraq and unstated for this field.
Experts say they won't know quantity or quality until they begin extracting
Vast oil reserves have been discovered in Israel that could transform the country into world energy power and change the face of the Middle East for years to come.
Do you ever actually read what you post? How can anyone tell if it's vast reserves until the field has been drilled and mapped? Or what the cost of extraction is. Ridiculous. The drilling company never said "vast reserves HAVE been discovered" "world energy power" "change the face of the Middle East", some reporter simply made that up and now it's flying around the internet endlessly. Here is the original press release. http://www.timesofisrael.com/major-oil-reserve-said-found-on-golan/ Note the first sentence Afek Oil and Gas confirms ‘significant amounts’ of liquid oil, but quality, quantity and cost-effectiveness of extraction still unknown. Significant amounts and vast reserves are NOT synonyms.
It wouldn't take a lot of oil to provide relatively immense wealth to a country with less population than NYC.

Three drilling sites on the Golan have uncovered what is potentially billions of barrels of oil, enough to fulfill the Israeli market’s 270,000-barrel-per-day consumption for a very long time, the report claimed.

Gary
Israel pays for that too.
It's a hot 100 in So Cal.
Israel did it.
Gary:
The Golan still belongs to Syria. Israel extracting that oil would be stealing.
So, it really isn't Israeli oil after all. And it isn't hard to figure out why Israel wants regime change and a breakup of Syria into a less than viable nation. Cheney, Rothschild and Murdoch are all involved in Genie Energy which was commissioned to look for oil in the Golan Heights.
Strategist:
Israel won the war. Now it belongs to them.
Nothing belongs to suicide bombers.
Only if your Hemmi is electric.
Well thanks to your shit, I spent a good 5 hours looking at Electric motors DC vs AC, Battery arrays, Lithium vs lead acid cells, the wire harnesses the converters, just all that is out there now.
I gotta tell ya, I'm dissapointed that we don't have more options out there for Eletric cars. We're a damn country that will go crazy over anything and create a frenzy.
You know for a brief moment there when Obama was comming in as the Green president and you guys talking like it would be a chance for cottage industry start ups.
I imagined people like Jessie James, and the various folks that did those garage build shows, that were some of the first Reality shows on the Learning networks, and back when reality shows sorta worked on those networks .
I knew we had people quite capable of producing a few standard sizes and configurations of chassis and frames for Electric car builds, a lot of Electric motor competition, there were going to be cheap battery makers(Still today btw the lead battery is still best efficient choice for cost per mile to drive for ROI. ). You know I just figured that by now, there would be a huge options and catalogs where you could have a whole electric car shipped to your house piece by peice. I know damn well we've got the technology, and skill, we've had the technology and skill before we even invented the 3D Printer, which came after Obama got in office. We didn't get none of that, and it's hard to find a full stanadard kit to retro fit any car. YOu can find plenty of half assed kits that will get you almost there. But what they don't tell you, and let you find out for your self. That you usually end up needed a very skilled and talented machinist to finish the conversion to custom fit missing parts, and people who under stand the electical of the model your converting from soup to nuts, just to get most basic functions to work again in your car. If you live in hot climate you'll need your alternator and a motor to drive your AC compressor, and to power your dashboard controls, and running lights, and signals.
I'll say what is out there is more readily available than it was in 08, but I don't think it's cheaper nor any way benefited from administration in the least bit. If any thing a nonshelant President like Clinton was when he was in office. He didn't do any thing to foster what happened with the Internet and Tech, it just happened. And hit happened because Clinton wasn't meddling picking the winners and losers.
Why do we go crazy for Tech start ups, that come up with new ways to spy on us, but can't be bothered with something cheap electric cars?
My lease on my Mazda 3 comes up in a few months. I was going to keep it and buy it from them. But now I'm thinking about buying the oldest lightest car, that still had all analog electronics in it. And retro fit it to electric. The one thing that sold me on it, is the longevity of how long they last. If you take care of a good electric motor it will last a long time. Especially an electric motor that gets limited usage. Eletric motors are designed to run in long durations under loads, with only pauses long enough between loads to cool the motor down. WIth the charging limitiations, and the range, you wont really be beating the hell out of an electric motor. So repairs like Engine, Gas intake, air intake, compression leaks, vaccume leaks, oil leaks, and transmission issues, all become a thing of the past.
I don't think I'll be buying my parts from a place that labels it as a kit or as Electic car components. They seem to put a premium on them and nodoby is actually an electric car component maufacturer, they just buy components and put their labels on them.
I'll get electric motors from people that make electric motors, that don't call the same motors EV motors, and I'll just find a machinist up front that will do all of the custom fitting. And still be cheaper than the premium those outfitters put on it.
It's not so easy to go Electric, unless you want to finance the bank.
"Careful there - you might be turning into a librul tree hugger and start believing climate change/global warming."
I think that takes a whole round of stupid pulls.
No I want an older car that didn't have all of the dangerous safety features in them.
The Windshield side posts in modern cars are over 6 inches thick and can obscure over 25 yards of intersecting traffic. Which can place you right in a deadly T-Bone accident.
I want a 1992 or older small car, and make an electric car out of it. There's just way too much shit in cars today. Already your average car has to come with a base sticker price of 20 grand due to all of the stupid un thought out bull shit features they add to cars. Meanwhile there's nothing standing between me and 5 tons of steel ripping through my car, but plastic and Styrofoam.
But my airbag will deploy alright and send a chunk of plate metal right through my skull. You know just in case the truck missed slicing through any of my vital organs.
SInce older cars will get harder to maintain as the years go on, and spare engine parts will get rare, and expensive to custom make. It wont matter to me, as I'll rip all of that crap down to the chassis and body and build an electric car that I can maintain.
Well your Dad sounds like the people I miss the hell out of too.

and your point is what? from your link.
Vast oil reserves have been discovered in Israel that could transform the country into world energy power and change the face of the Middle East for years to come.
Nothing has been discovered other than there is oil in the rock. No one knows if there are VAST reserves discovered. No one knows what is there. They might not be able to get any out at all. You obviously don't understand the difference between potentially and vast reserves have been discovered. It's a pretty damn big gap.

Vast oil reserves have been discovered in Israel that could transform the country into world energy power and change the face of the Middle East for years to come.
Afek Oil and Gas, an Israeli subsidiary of the U.S. company Genie Energy, said the breakthrough came in the Golan Heights, near the border with Syria.
Yuval Bartov, the firm's chief geologist, said there was 'enormous excitement' about the immense wealth it could bring to the Jewish state, which has long yearned for its own resource of 'black gold'.
Speaking to Paul Alster, an Israel-based journalist for Fox News, he said: 'It's a fantastic feeling.
'We are talking about a strata which is 350 metres thick and what is important is the thickness and the porosity.
'On average in the world, strata are 20-30 metres thick, so this is ten times as large as that, so we are talking about significant quantities.'
The main site lies close to the town of Katzrin, northeast of the Sea of Galilee.
