Republican-controlled Congress threatens American Heroes

Five years ago, Republicans blocked the funding of health care for 9/11 responders causing some of these heroes to die. Jon Stewart and The Daily Show shamed Republicans into not killing more American heroes. Five year later, Republicans have tried to kill these heroes again.

You can watch the rest of the segment at The Daily Show website. In the next part of the segment it's reviewed that one of the first responders died and two others are severely sick and that Mitch McConnell stopped the bill from passing for political gain for oil companies.

There is a word for people who kill innocent civilians for political gain. That word is terrorist. Mitch McConnell is a terrorist yielding a weapon just as powerful and any bomb or any plane, and he is using that weapon to kill 9/11 first responders.

Thankfully, due to the heroic efforts of Jon Stewart pushing and pushing for Congress to pass the permanent extension of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, Congress passed it, no thanks to Republicans.

This was the House vote breakdown.
Republicans: 150 yea, 95 nay
Democrats: 166 yea, 18 nay

Notice that nearly all opposition was from Republicans. The Senate breakdown was even worse with almost half of the Republicans voting to let 9/11 first responders die.

This should not be surprising given that conservative foundations like the vile Heritage Action for America called for Congress to reject the bill that would extend the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.

This bill passed despite a House and Senate controlled by Republicans, but just barely, and only because of the immense publicity and shaming brought on by Jon Stewart. This is why allowing either chamber of Congress to be controlled by Republicans is dangerous for Americans. Every time someone votes for a Republican, he is supporting terrorism and adding to the 9/11 body count. Don't let the 2016 Congress be as despicable as this past Congress. Never vote Republican.

Republicans aren't anti 9/11 heroes. The bill probably had unrelated anti-Republican agenda in the bill which caused them to fight it. Both parties do this to each other all the time, only gullible dudes like Dan fall for it.

Did you even watch the videos? Mitch McConnell killed the bill that extended the Zadroga Act because it didn't give big oil special benefits. When shamed about it, it conceded to add the extension to the Omnibus bill where his fellow Republicans tried to kill it again. Having control of both houses, the Republican Party could have extended the Zadroga Act just by itself easily and no Democrat would have resisted it. They've had the House Speaker position for years and thus control what bills make it to the floor for a vote.

Put simply, the party that crawled over the corpses of 9/11 victims is also the party that used the lives of 9/11 first responders as pawns in a political game. And that is unAmerican.

To quote the great philosopher,DBOAPD:

"DIE!, 9/11 HEROES! FUCKING DIE! EXACTLY AS THE FOUNDING FATHERS FUCKING INTENDED!"

"Gotta love the GOP leadership: they'd just as soon use the bodies of dead and dying 911 heroes to burn for an oligarch's barbecue, exactly as the Founding Fathers intended."

That phrase doesn't actually work if it doesn't apply. You can't use that phrase as "insert argument here".
