I have left flights to see a single guy at a desk sitting in the exiting runway reading a paper, while over his back through the glass the horde of people being processed by TSA for the outgoing flights.

My first thought was how easy it would be to divert the guy at the desk and just go into the terminal through the exiting path. Made the departure TSA shakedown look like absurd theater.
