SAN FRANCISCO — Pressure on Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey intensified as Twitter shares plunged to their lowest level yet, weighed down by Wall Street's faltering confidence in the turnaround led by the company's co-founder.

Shares (TWTR) closed down 5% to $18.68 on Wednesday after analysts heaped more doubt on Twitter's prospects.

Morgan Stanley analyst Brian Nowak cut estimates, reiterated a "sell" rating and reduced his target price to $18 from $22. Mizuho U.S. Equity Research analyst Neil Doshi started coverage with a "neutral" rating and a $21 price target. And RBC Capital Markets analyst Mark Mahaney predicted that Twitter, which has struggled with stagnant user growth, would actually see monthly active users decline in 2016.

Twitter stock is down nearly 30% since the San Francisco social media company went public two years ago. Twitter shares, which began trading at $26 in November 2013, fell below their initial public offering price last August amid rising alarm over stagnant user growth.

A late-day selloff on Wednesday pushed the Dow down 365 points and shaved 3.4% off of the Nasdaq. And Twitter is not the only tech company getting hammered. Netflix shares lost nearly 9% Wednesday, while Amazon fell nearly 6%.

It'll keep going down. No one tweets anymore of value since Trump was banned.

There's no connection to the number of users that an internet company has and its share value. These are platforms to collect information on the public and to influence the public. I can't stress this enough.

Facebook and Google, if they were a real companies, and not intelligence assets, wouldn't be engaging in ANY censorship because they lose users when they do this. They would allow people to opt in/opt out of voluntary censorship if possibly. They would also allow users to have multiple identities on the platform, or keep one identity separate from others - so that it would make it more difficult for your mom to find out you're also part of the BSDM group, or something.

These are so obviously no companies. Real companies appear to be maybe Gab, um. Rumble possibly. I have my doubts about Bitchute because there's no way to monetize anything.

Alex Berenson was good on Twitter, but now he's banned too.

He moved to Substack, but for some reason posts a lot less there.

Although evil, I find twitter pretty useful. I would be a buyer around $45.

Substack is taking a lot of Twitter's best writers.

The only thing I've seen on Twitter is a bunch of "celebrities" really either political celebrities or film/tv. I've never found them useful to listen to.

Jack is so pinned* he has to wear brighteners instead of sunglasses.

*("Pinned" means pupils fully constricted to pin size due to narcos)
