Great, we can blame it on the fucking Arabs, and their shit heap of a numeral system - ruining our lives before ISIS was even thought of.
Then again, I like 0.6667 and 0.3333. They aren't short and sweet, but they are interesting. With woodworking, inches, feet, and fractions are good (maybe better than metric) when you start with even sized items, but as soon as you start working with off-spec shit like plywood - you are screwed if you want to use measurements in English. Perhaps builders like it b/c they never care if something is a little off.
