I would might have gone with Phombies for phone zombies. Some day, we are going to have to drop the 'smart' in front of our phones.

Ummm, really bad idea. Some people run red lights. Pedestrians should not be encouraged to refrain from looking up before crossing the street.

What is a Smombie?? It is a portmanteau of "smartphone" and "zombies" used to describe people walking and staring at their devices. In other words, people who can't pull their heads up out of their smart phones. Some cities (not presently the US) have started embedding traffic lights in the pavement so that (hopefully) someone who is looking down at their smartphone will notice the traffic light before it's too late. My goodness, have we really stooped this low (no pun intended)? I guess so, here is a link to the article.
