There's no justification for violence. If the perps were caught, they should be punished. I'm not blaming the victim and rationalizing the violent act.
That said, is this the intelligence level of a typical Trump supporter? Two guys walking to their cars a ways away from the Trump ralley. They were afraid for their safety, so they didn't help others who were being attacked. They had the perfect disguise to blend in (they were gay Mexicans). Yet, they chose to wear bright red caps with Trump's dumb slogan on them. WTF? When you leave your house, wear whatever you want. If you find yourself in a dangerous mob situation, put away the banner that is the sole symbol that has brought the mob together. How stupid do you have to be that you think taking on the mob in hand to hand combat is a better solution?
I guess Trump supporters would have to start concealed carry for their own safety. Hell with law and government restrictions on carrying, safety comes first in my book.
Because they deserve it.
A good beating could knock some sense into them?
Dictionary.com : sense, "clear and sound mental faculties; sanity:"

If I don't like a law I don't have to obey it.
Laws against murder,fraud/theft,rape,arson,etc. should be repealed.
Criminals should be left to their own resources.
I'm also a fucking idiot.

That's the spirit. Take off those yamulkes, and you people, better take off all that African jewelry, and adopt Western styles, if y'all don't want any trouble.
Where have we seen that before?
That's the spirit. Take off those yamulkes, and you people, b
If I were wearing a yamulke and saw a gang of skinheads beating the fuck out of other Jews, I'd probably take off the yamulke before walking through the mob to get to my car. I know that it's legal and within my rights to wear the yamulke, but I'm not an idiot with a death wish, so I'd just take it off and proceed to my car. That doesn't mean that I agree that the skinhead were correct or justified. It just makes me not an idiot.
Likewise, if I were wearing a bright red Trump hat, and had to get past an angry violent mob of Trump haters, I'd take the stupid hat off. This isn't rocket science kids.
Likewise, if I were a scantily clad woman walking through the park late at night and saw a gang of people raping women, I'd put a coat on or go somewhere else. Two people taking on a mob achieves nothing but a potential trip to the hospital.
Now, I'm not saying that women, Jews, and Trump supporters should follow a dress code. Just don't be complete morons out there.

I'll remember that if I ever sit on a rape case.
Flirt Skirt at a Frat Party, surrounded by a dozen drunk horny dudes...?
They were afraid for their safety, so they didn't help others who were being attacked.
Totally gay.
I'll remember that if I ever sit on a rape case.
Just because someone is not pragmatic about putting themselves in danger does not mean it's their fault if they are victimized--maybe stupid, but not culpable. A crime is a crime; surely you can see the distinction?

Like I said, the perps are caught, they should be punished. I specifically said in three different ways that this guys stupidity does not excuse the perp's behavior.
"The garage where we had parked our car was right next to the building, but police were directing everyone around the block to another garage entrance instead. "
He should sue the police for putting him and others in danger by denying them safe entrance into the garage.

Yep. I was pointing out the whole "Trump Fans at a Trump Event shouldn't wear Trump Swag" is not the Official Line in other situations.
We're constantly told by the #MSM in those other situations that to point out that somebody showing lots of skin, drinking to excess, and putting themselves in situations to be surrounded by drunk horny guys and strangers is sexism, even though nobody actually blames the victim and is just showing that they could have taken many reasonable precautions but did not.
In fact we hear "Don't blame the victim." "Their underage binge drinking is beside the point, a sexist distraction!"
this guys stupidity
The dumb bitch that gets herself raped at the Jagermeister frat party will be slut-shamed and called out as a cum dumpster, so society doles out its own punishments for stupidity.
The police has obviously failed to do their job, but Dan, who is usually very quick with anti-police rants, is conspicuously absent from this thread.

I think this guy's actions are different from a woman who goes to a Jagermeister frat party. It's perfectly reasonable to go to a frat party or a political rally wearing whatever you want. Most people don't choose to walk through an angry mob that is actively beating people without trying to avoid being noticed. I tend to doubt the sincerity of such accounts. I've literally never heard of a woman who purposefully walked through a mob that was actively raping people.

Yes, terrorism and the fear of terrorism should make all Americans hide in their homes, and not go about normal lives.
People who are committed to their beliefs certainly do not back down from angry mobs. See the Freedom Riders for an example. Or the early Christian martyrs, if you want to go back that far. And the liberal bloggers in Bhangladesh are frequently assassinated when out in public. Maybe they should wear disguises or stay at home.
But the point is, in the USA, why do people even have to fear being attacked for attending a political rally? And why did not the police in San Jose do a better job, as they did elsewhere in CA? And why no high horse MSM editorials about the attackers?

The guy probably couldn't believe that shit was actually happening and was expecting police to step right in, disperse the mob and make arrests.

Being jostled while trying to get up close to a Presidential Candidate: Horrible Assault. Police and Prosecutors pour over CCTV footage, and eventually admit there is nothing there. Front page news for weeks.

Being cornered by a mob and pelted (assault): Not a Big Deal - don't wear Trump Swag! Multiple Camera Angles - Police stand around. Media quickly brushes aside.

whine all you want, but i'm just trying to protect myself, not mug anyone. If government says they protect me, they better fucking do it, or else I like every American will simply take matters into my own hands. You liberals need to learn, if you can't do the job right, I'll do it myself and forget you.
Is that the same thing that happens to NY Giant fans when they attend a Redskins game? Anyone wearing a Giants jersey gets beat up?
Yes, terrorism and the fear of terrorism should make all Americans hide in their homes, and not go about normal lives.
Like I said a bunch of times. You can go to a party or rally (or football game for that matter) wearing whatever you want. You can walk on the streets freely despite terrorism. None of that makes you stupid. You guys are really stretching the imagination with these tortured analogies. If the situation was as this guy described, he's a dumb ass. Doesn't mean he deserved to get beaten, but he's not smart.
So the woman in the above picture should have taken her Trump shirt off when she saw the mob coming towards her,
I don't know who that woman is or why you think she's wearing a Trump shirt. The reason people ignore you is that you don't make any sense.
So the woman in the above picture should have taken her Trump shirt off when she saw the mob coming towards her, this way she would just blend in? Is that right?
Then, after the sexual assault, we could blame her for not dressing appropriately in public.
I'm not blaming the victim and rationalizing the violent act.
That said, I shall now blame the victims for wearing Trump gear and rationalize the perp response to said Trump gear.
Can't see anything wrong with that argument.
