Thanks @stereotomy I had not heard about the ancient Greeks restricting where women could sit, or that Spartans dressed the bride like a boy.

I've noticed a few things from reading the classics:

- Women are not mentioned much.
- A few women gained a lot of power and money by being high-end escorts, where they could get paid to manipulate certain men's political decisions.
- Greek homosexuality was mostly men fucking boys. This also occurred among the Romans, but not as much.

While reading Plutarch's life of Cato, I ran across a guy who had a man killed just to show off to his boy-toy:
