The best-ranked female chess player in the United States has said she would rather sacrifice her career than submit to demands to wear a hijab at the next world championship. Nazi Paikidze, the reigning US Womens Chess Champion, swore to boycott the 2017 contest, which is being held in Iran and will have an enforced Islamic dress code. Paikidze admitted that the decision will harm her career, but said that doing the bidding of an oppressive regime in order to compete is not a price worth paying. In an interview with the founder of My Stealthy Freedom, a campaign against...

Today all we get are quick tweets about oppression and sexism, I miss to good old days when Bobby Fischer would go on a antisemitic tirade non stop for 45 minutes.

The sheer horror of having to wear a headscarf in public for a few days. And I wonder if there's a bit more family history to this beyond the hijab issue given that her name is Nazi.

oh shut up. you liberals practically fall apart from crying when someone tells you that a man can't walk into a womans restroom. See how it'll work if you are forced to be a Muslim or just about any religion for that matter... you people will probably just check yourself straight into insane asylum.

And what has that got to do do with wearing a hijab when visiting a country that requires it? Plenty of people wear headscarves. Are you going to have a hissy fit about Russian Orthodox Christians as well?

So I take it you support the positions in France banning the wearing of the hijab?

How ironic would it be, if the Democrats voted their way to Sharia in The States? They don't have a clue.

Eh? Of all the items I see people walking around wearing these days, a headscarf ranks pretty low on the radar, so no, I'm not in favor of determining what people should or should not wear, though if i was, I'd be banning fat people from wearing hot pants long before I turned my attentions to the hijab.

I won't go to the country that requires it. it's that simple.

Argued like a man with an IQ of 150, or am I missing a decimal place?

I'm sure they'll be crying rivers.

Eh?

The point is that you obviously are okay with mandated dress. Just as long as the Muslims are mandating it. When the French ban not wearing it, I'm guessing you find that upsetting. Which is inconsistent. You either think it's okay to make those kinds of rules or you don't. The where and what shouldn't matter.
