And I did it while fighting uncontrolled climate change, investing in the future, and reducing the size of government. I ended up with a great surplus of revenue. Play and post your results.

1   HEY YOU   2016 Oct 20, 10:30am

Dan,
I won't try to respond to everything on the list.
The mention of taxes is my favorite way to point out hypocrisy.

The argument that we need taxes is an argument for socialism.
People want me to pay for their pet programs for "america" but
if I can't get on any program of my choosing while paying taxes,
it becomes REDISTRIBUTION FOR THE.... ENTITLED republicans & democrats.

Richard Wolff is a Marxist?
He's got a grip on 1% entitlement.

Glad to know Rs & Ds in the disappearing middle class & lower class can take advantage
of tax laws that their elected officials make sure all their constituencies can use to save on
taxes.
Simpleminded voters working their asses off to benefit the few.
Looking into a mirror always gives a HD view of stupidity.
Those that don't believe, look into my mirror.

HEY YOU says

The argument that we need taxes is an argument for socialism.

Yes taxes are socialism and without them no society would be possible. The very definition of government is the allocation of public resources including financial contributions from members of the society to provide goods or services.

It would be impossible to run any kind of society without some form of taxation. Sure, you could call the taxes something different like service fees or fines. You could also assign the taxes differently, such as socializing the costs over smaller and more specific sets of people. For example, replacing a general income tax with taxes for gas, road usage, etc. But ultimately any revenue or resource generation is a tax by definition no matter what you call it or how you impose it.

In fact, government itself is, by definition, socialism. And that includes national defense, law enforcement, and border controls. The very concept that America has borders and territory is a socialist concept. You can't even have sovereignty without socialism.
