Technically speaking it was a rocketship...
The first was when humans landed on the moon.
FYI...
Simple Definition of beverage
: something you can drink : a liquid for drinking
We had to drink water because we did not have the money for a beverage.
Yet you refuse to visit him....nice son.
I talk to him quite often in Heaven. He knows that I'm doing well.
Happy birthday, Ohomen. About the politicians, some of them are wise. In fact, I think largely thanks to Nelson Mandela your home country managed to become a democratic nation with very little bloodshed. One could perhaps wish that we manage to do the same here in the US. Do you still live in South Africa?
68! You damned old codger! You've got me by ~ 2 months.
I also told the Grim Reaper to"KISS MY BIG OLD BUTT"
a couple of times.
How many never face anything worse than a hangnail?
They're in for a surprise.
Your list of important events should begin with Iraq & WMD
leading to one of the most peaceful times on the planet.
Almost as peaceful as earth was with only one cell life.
Being poor to order only water in restaurant is a good thing.
It's a healthy think to do! It's what rich smart people do too.
You don't want to drink the sweet crap!
Happy birthday!

My count is probably closer to a dozen.
It's not how many times,it's how close one gets.
Close enough to bite Death's nose & say
"Get out my face,FUCKER!" Two times was enough for
for the hoodie wearing punk to know to stay the hell away.
Hey Death! Start some shit & I'll will finish it,making you miserable for eternity.
Almost forgot about other great events.
Nuclear weapons,overpopulation of the planet.
To many others to mention.
Sorry, but this whole "wisdom with age" rant doesn't instill confidence when you haven't figured out that the Christian afterlife is a lie. Life is short and precious. Acting on the assumption that life is eternal in some other form is foolish regardless of what kind of false comfort such a delusion gives you. It is better to appreciate the brief experience of life as it really is than to pretend it's something else.
Never give credit to a god what nature itself has accomplished. To do so is to fail to appreciate the beauty and awesomeness of nature. Nature does not need the supernatural to be wonderful. It is amazing in of itself.

Funny stuff
Mandela was a thug, the economics of South Africa have been reduced since the end of apartheid.
If you want to call a pock faced boiling caldron hellhole "peaceful", why, have at it!!

Today I make it to 68 years of age. I'm humbled to have survived this long. Three times in my life I truly came close to death. When I would come to see my mother, she would first smile at me. Then she would bury her face in her hands for a few moments. When she looked up she would have a grim look on her face and always say the words: "Son it's a miracle that you're still alive."
I have been present at three incredible moments in history. The first was when humans landed on the moon. The second was the military coup when Pinochet came to power. The third was in April of 1994 when I got to vote in the first all-race election in South Africa.
Elena remembers how poor that we were at first. A great dinner out was hamburgers. We had to drink water because we did not have the money for a beverage.
In two months I will have lived eight more years than my dear father. I talk to him quite often in Heaven. He knows that I'm doing well.
Last year at this time I published my pearls of wisdom from 67 years of life. The first one is even more truer today than last year as follows:
"Never trust any politician anywhere in the world."
