FBI reviewing new emails in Clinton probe

(CNN)FBI Director James Comey said Friday the bureau is reviewing new emails related to Hillary Clinton's time as secretary of state, according to a letter sent to eight congressional committee chairmen, a surprise development with 11 days until the election.

After recommending this year that the Department of Justice not press charges against the Secretary of State, Comey said in the letter that "recent developments" urged him to take another look.

"In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear pertinent to the investigation," Comey wrote the chairmen. "I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation."

Comey said that he was not sure long the additional review would take and said the FBI "cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant."

Comey must have seen the end of his gravy train, i.e., the appearance of bribery. Let's hope they keep up the pressure. And please target woman of ballast Loretta.

If this is true and the emails are classified or have grubby content, could mean some legal drama even if she does get in.

This is speculation, but the FBI probably found bad/illegal acts of Hillary in some other investigation, that ties into the whole "criminal handling of classified information" case, and the FBI also has another party that could be charged and prosecuted who will testify against Hillary and those who work or worked for her, and whom she had employed.

It could also involved a smoking gun in the form of a proven pay-for-play arrangement whereby the Hillary State Department provided favors to a donor to the Clinton Foundation.

The person with the best and most appropriate sense in the entire family seems to be Chelsea, as she saw incredible conflicts early on between the Clinton Foundation, State Department, and associates with 'consulting" businesses (e.g. Teneo) who worked for or headed those firms, while working or who had worked overlapping roles at the State Department or for Hillary Klingon, personally.

They have absolutely no reason to suspect Duplicates, and every reason not to think some/most of these emails are new.

I kinda doubt the FBI re-opened a case without cross-referencing to see if the emails are new or old.
Remember, she only bleached her server, she didn't bleach the recipients' inboxes.

I'll accept Comey's results like the last time. He ought to be about to cross check and find the number of new emails today though. If the don't have software to sort emails by header info, and check text against the 30k emails they have already read, he should be fired. That should take one hr tops if the tech guy spends 45 minutes getting coffee and surfing the web. If 20 people read a page every 3 minutes, they ought to be able to check 400 pages an hour. So there's is no excuse for not moving through the new emails at that rate. I would expect 12 hr days through the weekend considering the bomb they just dropped. So they ought to be able to sort 5k pages per day to check for classified info. Any less than that and it will look weird.
