I love this guy's quotes from tonight on 538:

"HARRY ENTEN 12:14 AM
Trump has to be one of the oddest vehicles to prove certain theories about presidential elections incorrect. I had long thought that Democrats didn’t have a blue wall in the Electoral College. I had long thought that demographics weren’t destiny. Yet I didn’t think Trump would be the person to disprove these theories."

473   freespeechforever   2016 Nov 8, 9:27pm

They should call Wisconsin now.

It's gone Trump and she can't get it back.

474   Dan8267   2016 Nov 8, 9:27pm

OK, Hillary can technically win if she wins all three of PA, WI, and MI, but that's highly unlikely.

475   indigenous   2016 Nov 8, 9:28pm

WTF is up with the polling that misled on this?

476   Y   2016 Nov 8, 9:29pm

So it does seem to actually be true that either:

1. People were just not willing to tell pollsters their true level of support for Trump because of fear of the PC police.
2. The pollsters were simply lying.

483   Peter P   2016 Nov 8, 9:36pm

Polls are narrative devices. They are used to influence and not inform.

484   Tenpoundbass   2016 Nov 8, 9:36pm

They weren't polls at all. It was misinformation designed to frustrate the vote. Make Trump voters seem like it was futile to vote.

You can't take human actions as a data set, and extrapolate their future actions by plotting them on a chart

We're not so easily solved creatures.

We gamblers know the word well: Unpredictable

486   freespeechforever   2016 Nov 8, 9:37pm

Trump will win Wisconsin 100%.

He's very close to winning Michigan (16 electoral college votes) and is hyper-competitive in deep blue Pennsylvania.

This is surreal.

Michael Moore warned his fellow libbies this was going to happen and they laughed in their Ivory Towers.

Oh, how they laughed.

487   Y   2016 Nov 8, 9:37pm

The sad part is that the pollsters did very little to hide the fact...

2. The pollsters were simply lying.

They were probably just seeing the world through their lens. The media saw a Trump candidacy as a joke. They actually laughed about it. They just assumed that their thinking was what everyone was thinking. New York Magazine already published their next issue with the cover:

489   Maga_Chaos_Monkey   2016 Nov 8, 9:38pm

Realizing despite all of this I'm still in California and this passed. Hopefully Donald puts a constructionist on the Supreme Court and there is a battle about this:

I think additionally you can own no more than 50 rounds of ammo per caliber. I don't currently own a gun but am planning on it due to all the releases from prison around here.

Fucking the Sanders supporters cost the democrats this election.

www.youtube.com/embed/OAYZIqKwLE4

Listen and learn, DNC. If you want Trump to be a one-term president, get your shit together and reform the party. This entire election has been a vote of no confidence in both major party's establishments. Reform or lose the next election.

You know what the people want. Bernie Sanders, Jill Stein, Elizabeth Warren. Embrace the policies of these people or lose to Trump again. And forget about Hillary. We're not going to accept her. You want a woman president? You got two great choices: Warren and Stein.

What a dick.

498   zzyzzx   2016 Nov 8, 9:45pm

According to TV news, Trump ahead by 15 votes in NH, and barley ahead in MI and PA.
Clinton ahead in Maine, but they did not give the split for the vote, so I have no idea if that is going to happen (presumably they have not called Maine because of this).
Trump ahead in AZ
Clinton ahead in MN
No mention of Alaska, but add Alaska and AZ to Trump's tally (pretty much a given) and I think he still needs to win something else, even if it's only part of Maine.

499   justme   2016 Nov 8, 9:47pm

If Obama had only prosecuted the top 100 bankster criminals, and managed to convict HALF of them, even Hillary would have won. Thanks, Obama!

500   mell   2016 Nov 8, 9:47pm

Wisconsin is in the bag and Trump is pulling ahead in PA. Futures down 700 pts. Waiting for the official call.

501   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Nov 8, 9:48pm

Wisconsin is 4.5% ahead with 90% in.

All her base are belong to Trump
Hillary has no chance to survive make her time.

505   freespeechforever   2016 Nov 8, 9:53pm

zzyzzx - Trump is at 238.

He'll be at 248 with Wisconsin.

Add 11 more electoral college votes with AZ and he's at 259.

Add 6 more for Utah and he's at 265.

All he needs then is ONE of New Hampshire, Alaska, Michigan, Pennsylvania and he's there.

508   zzyzzx   2016 Nov 8, 9:55pm

Hillary's lead in MN down.
Trumps lead in AZ up slightly.
Trump still up by 1.5% in Michigan.
PA and NH too close to call
Alaska and Maine being ignored by TV news.

For my part, I was mostly fucking, drinking, and commiserating with some neighbors. Now thinking about buying the inevitable dip tomorrow. Mostly, my life will not change and I presume that I'll get a big tax break, so there is that. The comedy shows should be good for a while. It should also be real interesting watching the Republicans fight (work together) over the direction of the country.
