Kangaroos in the wild box each other all the time. There's no way this guy hurt the animal.

SJWs are closely related to (fake) animal rights activist who are just virtue signaling across social media and causing great damage to the people they harass as well as mother nature. Cecil the lion faux outrage caused such a huge drop in lion hunting that the lion population exploded and the lions (unchecked) started killing much of the wildlife around them, leading to forced culling of many more lions instead of keeping a subtle balance. The hunter may have been a douche compared to this guy getting into a good ole fistfight, but the harm he did was nothing compared to the harm the internet warriors unleashed onto the ecosystem in question.

The zoologist had it exactly right.

The zoo keeper's gravest error was in endangering himself. A red can keel back on that tail, raise those legs and strike straight down with its claws and open your torso up like a bag of potato chips.

Yeah, most larger wild animals would easily kill 80% of humans in an unarmed fight for survival. The Kangaroo will be fine.

This red was waiting for the guy to actually do something interesting besides giving him a friendly pat.

This is true. Kangaroos will even play-box with each other. If the animal actually felt threaten, the guy would have been on his ass in a second. The guy wasn't hurt or killed because the Kangaroo didn't try to hurt him. Maybe the roo was surprised that a human boxed him and was assessing the situation. In any case the creature was used to getting hit a lot harder by other Kangaroos.
