There are two famous female aviators, Amelia Earhart and Bessie Coleman, both of which are known for dying by crashing their planes. Male aviators are known for things other then dying. Damn patriarchy.

I can come up with 6-8 famous, or at least as famous as Bessie Coleman, female aviators off the top of my head that didn't die in a crash. Many of whom, like Jackie Cochran for example, set aviation records. Not female aviation records, records for anyone at the time.. I'm sure google would give me a dozen more. Dumb post.

Bob, you missed the point of the post. I wasn't saying that female aviators are incapable of being good. If you read that into the post, you're projecting. I'm saying it's dumb to glorify aviators for being female even when the thing that makes them famous is dying in a plane crash. So, to address your point, why doesn't Google honor the female aviators you are referring to instead of Coleman? Wouldn't that make more sense if the honor was for being an aviator instead of a female?

My point still stands. Honoring a woman who meets a far lower bar then men simply because she is a woman is patronizing, not a real honor.
