patnet should support unicode characters like the rest of the modern web.
simply setting the following header on all textual pages will likely get you 99% of the way there:
content-type: text/html;charset=utf-8
Yes, good idea. I should have "and 24 lurkers" or whatever it is.
Or "69 pussies that won't register and put a username behind their words." Just kidding ;)
My fault for trying to fix things that were not broken!
Patrick offered me 72 virgins if I could keep the site going through the weekend. Naturally I accepted.

@patrick, speaking of broken. The ability to Edit a post is broken again. This is the error that comes up.
node server says: Cannot read property 'post_title' of undefined
What the hell happened Patrick?
I know! Change name from patrick.net to mysogynist&racistswelcomehere.net
What the hell happened Patrick?
I suppose this is your true colors or you wouldn't allow all this crap on here. It's shocking, really. And sad.
I came here for the housing news initially. It was so vibrant then. And now it's like a cesspool of misogynistic and racist cretins.
All I can say is good luck with promoting your backward and hateful ideas. And Adios Amigos!
Which post(s) are you referring to?
(Don't expect any evidentiary support for his flaming.)
He forced a hard right bias and now the board is heavily moderated against anyone liberal

Here's my two cents. The day calling someone a liar became abuse and those posts got deleted was the day the site was finished. When you have a group like the alt-right which can't even write a reply without lying, it eliminates all discussion and all that is left is a mountain of bullshit. People don't want to read bullshit all day long so they stopped reading patrick.net.
Calling out a liar is always ad hominem. Therefore now this place only appeals to liars. Clear enough?

Patrick - Minor suggestion. If it's hard or not worth it, just ignore it.
Comment and thread times for people in other time zones is a bit weird. I just commented in the bitcoin thread and it says it's 5am or whatever. It's 7 am where I'm at. If you posted at that time, it actually is 5am if you're in CA at that time. I'm not sure what this actually improves, but it's just weird to not know what time people may actually be posting.
I know nothing about this stuff, but I assume it would have to be a user adjusted setting, right? They select their timezone from a drop down or whatever? For reasons I can't explain I'd like it as a feature, but as I said, if it's a pain don't worry.
