Why should schools be gun free zones? Would make SSRI withdrawing maniacs who are unable to get laid to think twice about bringing guns.

No. A maniac intent on killing people will bring guns in anyway. The solution to that is a quick response by police.
The problem with guns in schools is that non-maniacs will kill people, both intentionally in a heat of rage and accidentally. Given the rarity of maniacs, more people would die if guns are present in schools than if they are not.
This is also why you can't legally bring a gun into Congress or on the White House tour or on a plane or into a courtroom.
