Also, bring back trade schools. Not everybody is college material, a good third of the people in college don't belong there right now, and here's another truth:

Most people who graduate college end up doing jobs that were for HS Graduates 40 years ago: Sales, Office Administration, etc.

Spending the 11th and 12th grade learning Excel, Word, Telephone Mannerisms, Scheduling, SalesForce, etc. is just fine. Organizations are hiring English and other LibArts majors when a decently competent MSOffice user is the only skillset they really need.

Huge costs are imposed by making people pay $40k for State University when a few Office Admin classes are all they need.
