Now we know that 45 will always be concerned about middle & lower class.
That's what rich people care about.

Still here and still waiting. There seem to be rather a lot of people questioning whether this was actually a leak. After all, why would someone leak just 2 pages and from 2005 of all years? Couldn't possibly be because it has minimum information whilst simultaneously highlighting one of his better financial years (the tax year after The Apprentice started in fact), a year when he actually paid taxes (as opposed to his boastful counter to Clinton that he doesn't pay federal income tax because he's smart). Also noticed Donald Jr was straight in there shining a positive light on it. Mind, it does show why he's so keen to eliminate AMT.

please explain in details and provide all calculations showing exactly WHY the AMT caused Trump to pay 25% while leaving Romney, Bernie, Bush and Obama with lower rates?

Why? Do you somehow think you'd be comparing the same incomes? And how the hell does Bernie fit in with that? He is worth a fraction of Obama and even more so Romney.
Was the AMT not by far the most significant part of Trump's tax bill? So again, I wonder why he's so keen to ditch that particular tax? Get rid of that and his federal income tax falls from 36.5m to 4.5m. Not bad from 150m.

you mean higher income higher tax rates? isn't that the case already without AMT? what does AMT have anything to do with this?

again, i still don't see your calculations showing AMT caused Trump to pay 25%. where are they?

can you show how this work?

i hear there's some fuzzy special tax rule Obama abused that allowed him to pay much much less tax then he should have..

i don't know the details or how it works....i just know.

About as useful as Obama's birth certificate. Without the whole set of papers, the nominal two pages are worthless as far as real information goes. That's just the 1040 basic sheet.

Yeah, it was leaked on purpose as a decoy piece.

I don't get your point. Do you think I'm a tax specialist? The figures are what has been widely reported. Over 30m for the AMT and only 5m or so actual federal income tax. Remove the AMT supplement, which he wants to, and his federal income tax rate falls to 4%, presumably because he was still writing down his huge losses from a decade earlier. Even including the AMT, he only paid 24/25% depending on how it's calculated.

meaning...he had a VERY good reason to pay only 4.5% regular income tax that year. basically this is a case where even the biggest anti-Trump liberal like you can see why the AMT is ridiculous, and Trump is so RIGHT in trying to abolish it? gotcha!
