There have been many analyses with different conclusions about predictors of support for TRump versus CLinton.

In statistics the importance of whether it really is a simple random sample, and the way the questions are asked are extremely important. In the end, if you find the results unbelievable, check who ran the survey and how.

Does it really seem possible that being married is a better predictor of voting for Trump than being an uneducated white male in Tennessee ? Well of course that wasn't one of the variables that mairriage was compared against, I'm sure it wasn't compared to white/uneducated either.

I would bet my life that being republican is a better predictor of Trump support than being married.

There is a reason for the existence of the expression "statisitics lie," but even the authors of the study don't claim that marriage is the best indicator. THey claim it's the best of the indicators they considered (in what was obviously a seriously flawed analysis)
