> However I have no experience with this,
I do. New media MIGHT help drive signatures. There are complications. DUPLICATE signatures result in all instances of the name NOT being counted. These and fake signatures can really hurt the initiative. Also signers need to be currently registered to vote.
Even with new media, a majority of signatures will require PAID gatherers. There's $1M right there, and many times that if it makes the ballot, to educate voters.
Is it worth making this an omnibus Men's Rights thing including issues like false rape accusations going unprosecuted? Or just stick strictly to Family Law this time out?
I agree. False rape accusations have some room for doubt either way, and women will always take the side of women in such cases. It's just a reflex that they cannot help, unless their own sons are personally affected. There are not enough mothers of such sons to offset the massive female reflex to take the woman's side.
So best to stick to the most blatantly unfair aspects of family court to start.
Never been to CA. Don't live there. So it would be carpet bagging if I lobbied for a state ballot there.
I think that civil rights issues really need to be addressed at the federal level. Civil rights should not vary from state to state. However, if you have to start at the state level, that's ok.
I invited a guy named Jim to this discussion, because he knows a ton about the California legislative process.

Was it you or someone else that indicated interest in making a ballot initiative for men's rights in CA?
I'd definitely be interested in discussing further. I have experience in the process, and am growing a men's rights activist group for things like this.
