Going to spend some of the money I saved by renting all this time and take a month long trip to Europe.

First going to work on my Irish Gaelic in Ireland for two weeks, then will check out Scandinavia.

Just weird that two young religious Muslim women wanted to sit by me and talk to me.

Do you consider that a healthy fear, or an irrational fear?

He didn't say fear of any kind, and he talked with them rather than fleeing or fighting them off.

Did not flee or fight, but have to say they were pretty hot actually and that added to the discomfort.

I think you over flatter yourself. I doubt they specifically got on the tram to sit next to you and talk to you. You said they were talking to each other until you asked what language. If they were french or italian instead of muslim would you have even thought about it?

One last photo from my recent trip to Ireland. Here is the police station at 276 Lisburn Rd, Belfast:

The place is a bunker, clearly expecting major attacks. Amazingly, it's in a very rich neighborhood. So why do the police need such protection?

One usually ignored point about The Troubles is that the police were entirely Protestant, no Catholics allowed, and they actively colluded with UVF terrorists to kill Catholics with impunity, and often just random Catholics who had not bothered anyone. The police not only supplied the UVF with weapons and information, policemen often actually belonged to the UVF. Policeman by day, terrorist by night.

So it really was a civil war, where the British government was actively killing its own citizens without trial. This explains most of the support for the IRA, bad as they were.

As France goes from the current 10% Muslim to 20% in the next generation, I suspect a growing number of French Muslim police will collude similarly with Sharia patrols. The French government responded to Islamic terrorism by importing more Muslims and arrogating more power to itself to spy on everyone, including warrantless searches and house arrest. I suspect those powers will be used to identify apostates and blasphemers, search their homes, place them under house arrest without charge, and turn their names and addresses over to Sharia patrols. Already the Islamic State publishes online kill lists including home addresses of blasphemers, so it would be easy for local police to show up on a Friday evening, confirm the evidence (e.g. a Dawkins book or other evidence of atheism, which is blasphemy), detain the suspect under house arrest for the weekend, and alert a local Sharia patrol. The victim wouldn't be able to call a lawyer until Monday anyway, and by that time the Sharia patrol can kill the victim and maybe remove any trace of the police having been there.
