I think that may put it only one place: impeachment.

Why? Some kinda law against the President firing Mueller?

Likely. The AG I believe has to fire a special investigator, for cause, only.

That wouldn't be the point anyhow. The point is the President, who claims he hasn't done anything and is totally vindicated, is terminating people who are investigating his administration ... and likely him. You couldn't not have a massive obstruction case at that point.

It's beyond telling that a week ago Mueller was being held up as a great impartial choice, and tonight all of Trumps surrogates are out in force, blasting him. (shaking head)

Trump is going to go down as the worst president we have ever had. Freaking amazing.

Don't forget about the precedent: Richard Nixon fired the special Watergate prosecutor, and that most definitely sealed his fate.

Nixon was a different time civic minded American's ruled the ballot box.
If Nixon had todays demographic he would have and could have stayed.
Today Civics is what ever the "ACTOR" in any given poltical situation says it is.
One idiot on the Hill says Trump can't do that! Trump says watch me. And nobody knows for sure what in the fuck he can and can't do.
Because they are all too busy listening to transgendered reporters who just don't know what in the fuck is going on. But that doesn't stop him from breaking laws to proove how much he hates Donald Trump.

There's nothing against the law, but impeachment is a political process--not a law enforcement process. Firing the special prosecutor is very problematic politically and could turn up the fire on Trump.

I'll agree that he shouldn't do that. The optics alone would be terrible. Not only that, but Mueller is more likely to dig up dirt on the DNC than Trump or his campaign.

That said, the media has tried to wag the dog too many times to be believed about anything. This "story" is most likely a huge farce.
