Title is misleading and click bait.
A Wisconsin technology company is offering its employees microchip implants that can be used to scan into the building and purchase food at work. Whether or not to get a chip is up to the employee to decide.
It's a stupid idea anyway. The only upside is not losing the chip. The downsides are numerous including intrusiveness. It adds zero security since you could still be forced to use the chip at gunpoint. Furthermore, any decently secured system would handle a card or other something-you-have authentication being lost or stolen. This problem has already been solved.
As for whether microchip implants will go mainstream in the U.S., only time will tell.
