North Korea borders China, Russia, and South Korea and is across the Sea of Japan from Japan. Pyongyang is its capital. You'll hear that city on the news a lot this week. Seoul is South Korea's capital. Seoul means "capital city". Pyongyang means "flat land", which is sometimes translated as "peaceful land". Korea means "our nation".
