Wounded Knee, 1890. Really?

When loved ones pass to the great beyond, there shall be no mourning because:

1.) Attica
2.) Kent State
3.) Biafra
4.) Male pattern baldness
5.) That unpleasant bloating feeling

Crying over loss of life and you even tossed in a token minority.

Who do you think serves in our modern American military? Lots and lots of minorities and poor white kids. Judging from posts I've seen by veterans I know personally, they are none too happy with the Leftists for disrespecting our American union and sowing discord and dissent on the very symbol that represents our unity. They have friends who fought and died to preserve that unity, friends who are maimed for life. To call that symbol "racist and oppressive" is to cast shit on their dead and wounded buddies.

You should reevaluate your position on this one @bayareaobserver
This kneeling campaign might be popular among your friends, but it's deeply divisive for the nation, which is reeling from a deeply divisive election and ongoing divisive action and speech from Leftists in the media and government.

I have reevaluated my position

But why would you object to a member of the military mourning a fallen comrade? It seems inhumane.

Btw - when a parishioner kneels in church - is that a protest or act of disrespect

Surely you must know that everything is contextual.
The kneeling is a reverse of standing which is the accepted public method for respecting our country during the anthem. So it's a deliberate inversion. You don't kneel in church but then you aren't a Christian, so you aren't expected to. Neither would we expect a Frenchman to salute our flag or stand for our anthem.
However, we are all Americans, no matter how divided by politics and politicians, so negating that one similarity means you're rejecting the community of your country.

Kaepernick couldn't even say why. He was just doing what his Muslim girlfriend ordered and didn't want to say that.
