So basically Patrick is a big
Whatever you do @patrick, do not let the site fall by the wayside. You have done way too much good work to let that happen. Yes, my opinion is that mistakes have been made. Too much flip-flopping and failed experimentation(*), and a loss of editorial emphasis and consistency. And I think I have made clear what I think the recipe for success is, in my long list of suggestions on how to make Patnet great again. But do not let it be all for naught. I send my best hopes and wishes that Patnet will rise to greatness once again.
(*) Come to think of it, I can't help but think that the latest offer to fork a bunch of independent sites with separate masters and therefore separate and different editorial rules is just another experiment intended to see what works. Patrick, I have said before that you are like Marissa Mayer who always wanted to tweak the Google homepage and see what worked. The difference is that she had millions of users and it was easy to split-test small changes in sep...

Every Trump supporter I know is basically a libertarian. His supporters want legalization. You are preaching to the choir. Sorry if I ruined your fuck Trump supporters rampage this AM.

Be civil or GTFO. Seriously, this is B@llsh*t behavior. Go find somewhere else to troll if you can't stick to the topics.
You're being a dick, Goran_K.!
What is the focus of this site now that it's not about the housing bubble?

How can you keep the site as it is and also create all these other sites without diluting the entirety? This is already a site with a minuscule audience. How are a multitude of micro sites with next to no viewership going to grow? They will never get the necessary traffic.

As to the thread topic,
I don't know if it's a great idea overall Patrick. You have to watch out what you associate with your name, now that's it's all out there. Someone could start a very toxic sub-forum with very controversial stuff. Say it gets extremely popular, you could have a problem on your hands with such content associated with your name. I wouldn't expose myself to the risk honestly.
Hey @Patrick
Why do some people think they're doing you a favor by using Patrick.net? I'm completely mystified by the attitude. It's not like there are ads all over that people are clicking on and you're making big money from revenue.

A small site with a tight editorial focus will attract a narrow but devoted audience.

Don't know what happened, so I can't comment on that incident.
But I will say for the most part, you shouldn't put out so much personal info on the internet like Roberto was doing, and then on top of that, act antagonistically towards people who don't agree with you every other post. No a good recipe for your personal information not being abused.
So it’s Roberto fault that Sniper/CiC doxxed him at work with a fale gun threat.
Interesting angle

This is my best evidence as to why you should not be a moderator at all.
This is a terribly toxic argument IMO.
I'm sure it seems that way to you. Free exchange of ideas probably terrifies you.
Fuck off. Anyone who cares will click the link and read what I wrote in jail. It's not deleted. People need to know that you're a piece of shit and that you helped destroy this site.
So, what's the stats look like?
I don't imagine you have as much occasion to troll on a GM Trucks forum as you do on a politics one.
You are a true dingbat. Roberto put his personal info out.
Stop lying.
The uncivil button is there. Use it.0

Nope--there is no uncivil button for me.
Hmmm reboot sounds interesting. I could make a write-only archive of the old content, then start over being just about housing and investing, strictly no politics.

Anyone have a particular love of a topic and want to be a co-founder of a clone based on that topic? You'd be moderator-god, and own half of the rights to the domain name and the database (the source code would remain open source and available to the public for free). I do the tech, you do writing, moderation, and marketing.
The goal would be to build traffic and revenue (probably advertising) and then sell the thing ASAP, splitting the proceeds.
If you're interested, what topic would it be, and do you have a domain name to use?
