So does this mean exposing yourself in public is also now legal?

14 year old girl - "He had his penis out and was touching it."
Police officer - "See that pile of shit he left? No crime has been committed."

I assume you're asking this for a friend, right?

Seriously though, kind of a good point. Not sure it would literally go down that way, but could be a possible defense. Although I'm sure they have laws against public nudity, which probably negates being able to actually take a shit in public.

God damn, government makes things so fucking complicated some (ha! most) times.

Another question, is it now ok to litter? I would have to assume yes, as there's certainly nothing I'll throw out my car window worse than a shit on the sidewalk.

Well technically shitting on the ground could be described as fertilizing. Right? Government has a way of distorting some of the simplest things.

While it's fun to deride government, looking at the article, it's not actually legal to defecate in public, you just won't face $999 fine and a year in jail anymore. Still punishable by 60 days in jail, so no, Denver is not "OK" with you pooping, just less heavy-handed about it.

In some cultures, pooping in public places is acceptable
In 1975 and 1976 our company had a drilling program in Iran and several of our staff picked up and moved there for a year--they didn't ask me to go and I wouldn't have, but all I did were the drilling reports. They lived in a separate area from the rest of the population that they said was more like an American suburb, but it was disquieting the things you would see when you were out and about such as people simply squatted by the curb when they needed to defecate, then went about their business. Trump's description was pretty accurate. This ties in to the other thread about the gradual degradation of our society. Our co-workers came home without incident in 1977. It's hard to imagine in retrospect of the subsequent revolution in 1979 that our people were able to get back home without any problems.

That is correct. And I'd like to meet the person who conducted the study that proves mainly "illegals" shit on the sidewalk. Would love to know the methodology....

Start with contacting that ACLU dude who's quoted in the article offering the rationale behind the decriminalization of shitting on the streets.
