Most people can't abstain from jamming a cheeseburger into their mouth while applying for a loan to spend money they don't have. Getting them to delay gratification in their own life for tangible and obvious benefits to themselves and their children 20 yrs down the line is very difficult to do.

Getting people to change behaviors for the health of the planet in 100 yrs is apparently a bridge too far. The odd thing to me is how much work people go to to convince themselves that AGW theory is wrong, so that they don't have to feel bad about their decisions or to imagine that their team is correct.

Alarmists have no answers. They just prattle on: "the ice is all melting. The temperature is spiking. The coast is flooding."
None of these predictions have come true and now we are heading in to a period of less active sun.
We will know soon enough if Heyyou's Guy is right.

This is the thing with denialists. They think scientists are idiots. They think they are smarter than anyone, even though they mostly ignore the details of the greenhouse effect, the absorption bands of CO2 vs H2O, The mathematics involved, the amplifying role of H2O, the fact that it is observed directly by measuring radiations reflected by the atmosphere, or outgoing from the atmosphere, by temp measurements, and confirmed by other observations like the faster warming at night, at the poles etc...
And then there are the confusions about the normal CO2 cycle: "Oh no we exhale CO2", but "hey plants consume it".

What is the confusion?
The sun warms the planet. Co2 is a trace gas that has little effect on climate compared to the sun and water vapor.
The alarmist arguments are weak and will be further debunked over time.

Global warming is all about Libbies trying to induce an ice age so they have a legitimate excuse for their terminally limp peckers..

Actually, a group of them are sophisticated con-men riding a cash cow. I have a better prediction batting average than all of the alarmists, so how can they claim to be smarter than me? Honestly, how can the side that has been conclusively proven to have failed through predictive theory still claim that they understand something?
