Jefferson was our most excellent president, imho. He personally wrote the Declaration of Independence, which made him a marked man in the eyes of the English. He would have been killed for it had the revolution failed.
Absolute genius guy. We can thank him that we have a decimal monetary system, free public education, the whole middle third of the country (purchased from France), the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the Library of Congress, the University of Virginia, and many other innovations and establishments.
We should more statues of Jefferson up, not fewer.
He also provided for the foundation of the University of Virginia and provided for the freedom of all his slaves.
Unfortunately, he had the 2nd biggest library in the World, personally, at the time... and debt to match. So his UVa dream came about a bit later.
It's really amazing, Western Civ was the first in the world to end slavery and the slave trade. Slavery does not exist in the world mostly because of the British Navy and an Evangelical Christian named William Wilburforce. But the SJWs don't know about either, while calling everybody ignorant.
He also provided for the foundation of the University of Virginia and provided for the freedom of all his slaves.
You may be thinking of Washington. Jefferson died massively in debt, and his 600 or so slaves were sold to help pay it off. Jefferson only freed about 7 of his slaves, including 2 that were his kids with Sally.
We got a Baby Dyke Gun Grabber lauded as Joan d'Arc, while Universities want to remove Thomas Jefferson Statues...
... and the Media thinks we're nuts for worrying about guns being taken away.
