Puerto Rico has all the advantages of a country, with all of the bills paid by the USA.
They get their own flag at the Olympics, don't have to pay federal income tax in Puerto Rican income, instantly eligible for Federal welfare programs in and out of Puerto Rico. But elect their own incredibly corrupt officials, insist to everybody they aren't American, kick out all the USN Navy Bases then demand economic aid after the economy crumbles in the towns that were near it, and celebrate Maduro and Castro.
Until a disaster strikes, then they rediscover they're Americans as if by magic, what a coincidence.
