The adoption of SSRIs followed a pattern. Pharma pushed them, the FDA blessed them based on shoddy studies, the media and trusted messengers promoted them, and society gobbled up that snake oil like candy. Anyone who questioned the grift was shunned.
There was just too much money to be made for anyone to do the right thing. Once the pattern was set, more pharmacological disasters soon followed.
Next we were told that opioids, including OxyContin®, were not addictive. Once again the FDA blessed them based on shoddy data, the media promoted them, and society took these pills in massive quantities. On average, every year the U.S. now loses more Americans to opioids than died in combat in the entire (decade-long) Vietnam War.
Now it is happening yet again with Safe & Effective™️ Covid-19 shots that disable and kill at an astonishing rate. There is just so much money to be made from poisoning society that Pharma (+ the media and the political system that they own) cannot resist.
And millions of people who once believed in the promise of a better society are now mindless zombies who just want more pills, more injections, and more drugs to cure the human condition. But even that’s not enough — they want a society where Pharma idolatry is enshrined in law and everyone is forced to obey (setting up Pharma totalitarianism is basically the entire purpose of the California Democratic Party at this point).
I worked with a guy who was popping opioid pills daily. I warned him to be careful, as opioids were addictive. He denied that they were, caliming that he stopped all the time.
Unfortunately generally wasted advice effort.
It's a business, n doctors usually trick women into taking pills who think world is full of rainbows n wonderful people and you are suppose to be happy all the time.
When you go to doctor, they give you survey for mental evaluation. Almost every women on her period will qualify.
Do you feel sad ?
( duh , you can't be happy all the time)
Various question that even if you were sane, you start questing your sanity.
White women when they are young, get put on pedestal , men will take them on trips , buy them shit, etc constant attention. lot of dopamine .
When they are 30, they get into reality of normal person n get depressed. Given that they built mostly superficial relationship, their men dump them for another younger model.

Anxiety is the result of poor gut health. You can heal it, but it takes time.
The medical community doesn't want you to know about it, because it's essentially a free/easy fix. Diet.
Drug companies and doctors make nothing on this.

Wow. That comment was from 2018.
Interestingly enough, I have been on a carnivore diet for a month now and feel better than I did in my 20s.
Zero anxiety/depression. Plenty of energy. My bench and squat at the gym jumped back up to what I could lift in college and my blood pressure has dropped significantly. At this rate I will be off my one bp med in another week or two.

Long-term use of antidepressants is surging in the United States, according to a new analysis of federal data by The New York Times. Some 15.5 million Americans have been taking the medications for at least five years. The rate has almost doubled since 2010, and more than tripled since 2000.
Nearly 25 million adults, like Ms. Toline, have been on antidepressants for at least two years, a 60 percent increase since 2010.
“Some people are essentially being parked on these drugs for convenience’s sake because it’s difficult to tackle the issue of taking them off,” said Dr. Anthony Kendrick, a professor of primary care at the University of Southampton in Britain.
White women over 45 account for about one-fifth of the adult population but account for 41 percent of antidepressant users, up from about 30 percent in 2000, the analysis found. Older white women account for 58 percent of those on antidepressants long term.
Drug manufacturers do not deny that some patients suffer harsh symptoms when trying to wean themselves from antidepressants.
As far back as the mid-1990s, leading psychiatrists recognized withdrawal as a potential problem for patients taking modern antidepressants.
