Funny how this is all over the press at the moment, but it's been like that for decades.

I went to UC Berkeley in the late '80's and frequently took the BART, but don't remember junkies shooting up in the stations. Let's go to the tape. Heroin addiction seems to have shot up in the USA in the last decade. As have heroin related fatalities. While SF had a horrendous homeless problem when Art Agnos was mayor, I am not sure it was as related to drugs as perhaps now.
