Watson's analysis of our current cultural nadir is spot-on, in my opinion. There was a time when the US was a net-exporter of culture. Rock and Roll and blue jeans did more to erode the Iron Curtain than any political maneuvering ever did. What we're exporting now is largely dreck. The critique:
