Nazis and Communists HATE this theory, but it shows their commitment to authoritarian tyranny.
The Nazis and the German Communists mostly recruited from each other.
As the political horseshoe theory attributed to Jean-Pierre Faye highlights, if we travel far-left enough, we find the very same sneering, nasty and reckless bully-boy tactics used by the far-right. The two extremes of the political spectrum end up meeting like a horseshoe, at the top, which to my mind symbolizes totalitarian control from above. In their quest for ideological purity, Stalin and Hitler had more in common than modern neo-Nazis and far-left agitators would care to admit.[5]"

After years of smearing good people with false charges of bigotry, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has finally been held to account. A former Islamic radical named Maajid Nawaz sued the center for including him in its bogus “Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists,” and this week the SPLC agreed to pay him a $3.375 million settlement and issued a public apology.

SPLC also has Ayaan Hirsi Ali on the list, along with David Horowitz. Basically, if you're not in love with Islam, you're a bigot. Even former Muslims who became agnostic secularists.
