Going to the moon was not the point. It was having the resources to research how to get there. Whether we went there or not, there was nothing fake about it.

Do not understand this comment. Soviets were extremely unhappy about Americans landing on the Moon - they lost this part of space race. If Americans would have faked the landing as some crazy people suggest, Soviets would be all over that.

Because we mapped the moon's poles and have an actual reuseable and reliable space vehicle due to Pentagon spending.

We might actually get a moon base because of the USSF, who would love to have satellite repair/refuelling out of the deep gravity well from the Earth's surface. Not to mention ASAT and anti-ASAT capacity.

The eventual Mars Mission will end up fabricating the 'stupid parts' and fueling all the propellant in L1/L2 because of the USSF.
