Under oath of what? It was a committee meeting. Kavanaugh and Ford could have said anything they wanted and there are no consequences. It wasn't a legal proceeding.

I try not to get into politics too much here, but anyone could see she was lying. She got caught in made up shit by the prosecutor. Frankly I was surprised she stuck around for the beating she got. It was a PARTY, no one else has come forward and said they were there from what I've seen and read. You kind of remember a party that you're at with someone that just got nominated to be a supreme court justice. Most everyone of them would still be alive too. Must have been a fun 3 person party.

Kavanaugh came across as raw, but he seemed real. He's been nominated to become a supreme court justice and all he can talk about is beer? You think that makes you look good? Yet Ford says she heard people talking, but then didn't and then just assumes they were talking because it was a party? Where are all these people that were at this party, dead?

I really dislike Lindsey Graham, but he was spot on in this instance. And really, who cares what the drinking age was then? You don't think Kavanaugh or Ford had "beers" when they were 16? Come on man. It was a prep school. They were all drinking by 15-16.

In 1982 I recall that the drinking age for beer was indeed 18 in VA and Maryland. Hard liquor was 21, though. So if he is talking about beer it was 18.
