That's weak. In March of 2014 Russia's Defense Ministry said their troops had nothing to do with Ukie military base blockades in Crimea. In August of 2014 Russia's Defense Ministry said their detachment of paratroopers "got lost" and "accidentally" went 100 km deep into Ukie territory in Donbass before getting surrounded and captured.
