I was taught in school, always hypothesize, question, and theorize about science in new ways never thought of before.
But in my adult life it has amazed me how many seemingly educated people will shoot you down and die on the prevailing theory or lie they were taught in school. In fact most of the theories I have put forth in the past, my own ideas that I set forth, and was savaged by Liberal Scientists. Almost every single one has had a paper written on it since then or is now the prevailing theory.

Conservatives would either shoot down my theories with logic or drawing my attention to another point of view, that made me realize I may be wrong. Or they just tell me, well now you have to prove it. I have never seen a Conservative scientist put out by putting forth a theory. They aren't politically vested in the outcome either way.
