In spite of my travel lethargy and reluctance, I have been to a few of these. A couple of years ago when I went with my friend to Maui, we did the 'Road to Hana'. I just feel sorry for these people. They are as indoctrinated into a cult as much as any cult member is.

They probably have family that suffered tremendously under the Soviets and since the Nazis fought them, they - in a false dichotomy - think that they were better. They can't realize both of them were garbage.

The good thing is, both of those evil regimes are gone and good riddance.

I don't think of these are bad, evil people. I think of them as victims of brainwashing. It's a failure of the state that these people exist. If they were better educated, they wouldn't be like this. They are victims of their government, their awful government.
