@Ceffer - the moon missions were very short - they basically spent 24 hours on the moon and they didn't do it at "noon" for the moon either.
In space vacuum, anything exposed to solar radiation directly goes up hundreds of degrees above zero. Anything in shadow goes down hundreds of degrees below zero. Solar radiation is not democratic in a vacuum. We have an atmosphere that buffers temperature. The moon has no atmosphere.
The question is, did those flimsy appearing suits actually have cooling and buffering capacity to counter such wild swings of temperature? The plausibility of such is doubtful.
